Last night, something came over me in a big way. I decided it’s time to get busy on my healthy journey. I made a short post about my decision and noticed one reply was from a friend suggesting that I try the Daniel Fast. This is a book that talks about a 21 day fasting period inspired by Daniel from the Holy Bible.

It just so happens that I’ve adopted a WFPB (Whole Food Plant Based) diet on two separate occasions, one was right after I finished several months of radiation after I had cancer the first time around 2010. It seems that that radiation damaged my liver and was referred to a liver specialist at that time. He prescribed several medications and scheduled me for a follow up several months later.

When I returned for the follow up, my results were outstanding. All liver enzymes were back to an optimal level and the doctor was very pleased. He told me that the medications were obviously very successful! I laughed and told him that I did not take any of the medication that he subscribed but adopted a WFPB since our last visit. He said he did not understand but suggested that I keep it up.

Unfortunately, I slowly got back to eating poorly over the next decade or so until the cancer returned.

I’ll continue with part two coming up soon. Stop back!
